Dio Mio is great for a weekday dinner with friends. Getting a table was easy considering they don't take reservations, and I felt their service was great despite the fact you order food and drinks at the bar. Loved the specialty cocktails from the bars I tried -- dragonfruit limoncello spritz and blood orange margarita. For food, my friend and I split the arancini, focaccia + prosciutto, and the Rigatoni (fennel sausage, kale, calabrian chile, lemon breadcrumbs). The pricing was great to share all this and 2 drinks each, it came to $52 per person with tax and tip.
This place is amazing. Best food we've had in a long time. The Chef brought out a special treat for us to try. Amazing service and even better food! Must try 10/10
This fast-casual spot serves up handmade fresh pasta and fantastic Italian bites. The wine list is a perfect match for the menu, and the team is always so welcoming with excellent service! Their menu changes often, so some of these dishes are no longer available, but here's what I've tried: What I've tried: House Focaccia with house stracciatella, aged balsamic, olive oil Winter Salad: mixed greens, glazed oyster mushrooms, Smith apples, feta (no longer on the menu) Tuna Crudo: bone marrow aioli, pickled brats, tendon puffs (no longer on the menu) Squid Ink Pasta (no longer on the menu) Cacio e Pepe: mafalde, black pepper, pink peppercorn, Parmesan Spaghetti: red sauce, Parmesan, chives Best bites: Every pasta I've had here has been cooked perfectly al dente. The spaghetti's red sauce was packed with flavor, well-seasoned, and just delicious. The squid ink pasta honestly haunts my dreams because it was that good. Even the focaccia which is normally my least favorite bread, was pillowy, well-baked, and the perfect vehicle for their fantastic stracciatella. If you haven't been yet, check them out!
I wi order the rigatoni and artichokes every time, but also have had most of the other pastas and you truly can't go wrong here. I love how casual the inside is and everything is greatly priced for amazing food! Must hit spot in Rino
Really fun place! We visited on a Saturday night and only had to wait around 20 minutes for a table. The hostess at the stand was very kind and up-front about the waiting time, and she even tested that she had our phone number correct for the automated "your table is ready" message, which we really appreciated. The food itself was good! We had focaccia for the table, and I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. The focaccia was a little too salty for me, but the rest of the table enjoyed it. I loved the spaghetti and meatballs. The consistency of the noodles was fantastic. The ambiance was great for the most part, but I will note that we had a couple bugs buzzing around our table (gnats? fruit flies? not sure) - likely this was just a fluke/one time thing, though, as everything seemed very clean! Would come here again!
This place is incredible! I've been wanting to check this place out for months & I finally made my way over there. The place has a nice vibe to it & the food is delicious! I ordered the Squid Ink Cavatelli and my friend ordered the Rigatoni, & both were incredible options. The squid ink comes with a crispy chili oil that makes the dish stand out, but the Rigatoni comes with a fennel sausage that is packed with flavor. You also NEED to order their focaccia bread. We kept it simple & ordered the focaccia with whipped black butter & I truly regret not ordering more than one order. I would go back just for the focaccia!! Did I mention they have a full bar!? Definitely a place everyone needs to try!
Hostess was very friendly and explained several of the dishes, including her favorites, when we sat down. She informed us to remember our table number because we would need it when we placed our order at the counter. I was immediately disappointed to find out I would be placing my order at a counter. In a Michelin Guide restaurant I would have imagined my order would be taken at my table. I ordered the Calamari Squid Ink Pasta, as recommended by our server, and my husband ordered the Agnolotti. We both preferred his dish over mine and said it had more flavor. This restaurant was good and I would return again but definitely not while it's busy because I would be very frustrated to wait in line to order my food.
Dio Mio had been on my list of Italian places I wanted to try in Denver for some time now, and it did not disappoint. We were here for their happy hour before rush hour so we had no trouble finding street parking. The ambience is casual but hip and modern, a bit dimly lit on the inside with plenty of outdoor patio space. The staff were all friendly and helpful. You first go to the counter to order and start a tab, and then they'll bring the food and drinks out to you. Now, the food: I was craving some delicious bread, and the house focaccia just hit the spot. Fresh with a delicious crispness on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. We had it with the brown butter and also with prosciutto and both were delicious (though the brown butter was a tad on the salty side for our taste). The charred spring salad had a slightly sweet, refreshing onion vinaigrette that complemented the other richer dishes we ordered nicely. While the pesto (made with pistachio and with a sprinkling of furikake) was tasty, the cacio and pepe (which we had with fennel sausage) was by far our favorite dish of the night. If you don't get any protein, the cacio and pepe is only $12 during happy hour--what a deal! By dessert time, we did not leave the gun and take the cannoli--I finished every bite right there.
